The rose is above all synonymous with love, femininity and passion.

The rose, so sweet and delicate, also symbolises secrets, things that have to be revealed with delicacy. The bud, its centre, is hidden deep down inside the petals, so it is a symbol of female chastity, while a rose that has opened up represents the beauty of youth.

Someone who gets a tattoo of a rose wants to live in harmony with their own feelings, maintaining the distance necessary to keep their balance. In aromatherapy the rose is used to create a positive influence on mood and emotions, its essential oil is present in many aphrodisiac blends.
